‘I Photograph Comedians’ by Chester photographer, Andy Hollingworth has a starring role at “Showtown” the new museum in Blackpool that explores the history of entertainment in the town.

The exhibition include 50 prints of Andy’s photographs as well as objects of comedy memorabilia from his personal collection including ticket stubs, press passes, badges and a Billy Connolly Lego minifigure.
The exhibition captures many rare contemplative moments off-stage, creative studio portraits as well as showcasing performers on stage.
Andy was born in Yorkshire in 1967 in Yorkshire, and has lived in Chester for over 30 years. Andy’s work has been published all over the world and exhibited in museums in the UK and North America.

Andy has worked with comedy legends including Rowan Atkinson, Steve Martin, Rik Mayall and Victoria Wood. He is the go-to photographer for many contemporary comedians including; Rosie Jones, Kevin Bridges, Johnny Vegas, Sindhu Vee and Romesh Ranganathan.
Andy Hollingworth said: “This retrospective of my work over the last 30 years reflects the changing faces of comedy in the UK and my interaction with them. I’m delighted that it’s being displayed at Showtown in Blackpool – the very heart of British entertainment for the last 100 years!”

‘I Photograph Comedians’ runs until 23 February 2025. Andy is hosting exhibition tours in November and February.
