In addition to the ongoing renovations to Chester Train station and the forthcoming statute of railway mastermind Thomas Brassey, a new bar operated by local brewers Spitting Feathers will be opening in the currently empty west wing of the station.
The Station Tap will be a craft beer venue with 8 real ale pumps, 20 keg taps and a large selection of takeaway bottles and cans. The bar will be serving food all day, with breakfast from 7am-12pm then a burger, pie and baked potato menu till 8pm. All food will be available as take away. Tea and coffee will be available supplied by local roaster Zealots, alongside packaged sandwiches and cakes.
Spitting Feathers currently operate the Brewery Tap on Lower bridge street, which opened in 2008, and the West Kirby Tap (2014). Spitting Feathers Brewery is based at Common Farm in Waverton and pride themselves on their sustainable approach with the use of solar panels, and waste grain used as feed for cattle and pigs. Bee hives on site provide honey for their pubs and seasonal beer, Honey Trap. The company was founded in 2005 by friends Matthew Walley and Terry Ashford
The venue is aiming to be open for Easter although no date has been set yet.

Glad to hear it ! The station badly needs more of the building put to use to help fend off the flock of junkies that otherwise roost around it.
