Launched last Autumn, Chester on a Plate Tours offers a 4 hour walking tour of Chester taking guests to multiple independent bars and restaurants.
“I started in Manchester” says founder Steph, where she worked for Rob Kelly of Scranchester tours for over 3 years. Prior to that she had worked and travelled for several years, extending her food knowledge via stays in Vietnam, Cambodia and Spain. Steph’s passion for food and drink has extended to her launching her own chilli sauce and running an award winning wine deli.

The Chester in a Plate Tour offers a multi stop tour of independent food and drink businesses in the city. “Every place has designed a food and drink pairing. In between I do a nice walk and talk a bit about the history of Chester”. Venues included in the tours include Dabba, who offer an Indian brunch, European tapas at Greenhouse (Rufus Court), Art House, The Brewery Tap and a Cheshire cheesecake served up by Pastry Pedaleur in the Market. A Beer Tasting and Brewery Tour has also been launched which includes venues such as Spookton Brewery.
“We have a really vibrant food scene. The last ten years has given Chester bars and restaurateurs the opportunity to open up and make Chester more of a food destination. Its a great city and independents help bring people into the city, spend their money and want to come back!”
