“Soup with Soul” this winter as Soul Kitchen and Townhouse project continues

Chester Townhouse/s summer program “Sunset Café” with local charity Soul Kitchen Chester served its final servings on Friday on 3rd October. The “pop-up” has run every Friday since 30 May. It did what it set out to do: bring people together, build confidence, and open doors for those participating in the program. One member has already moved into a paid hospitality job because of it.

From Monday 6 October, Soup with Soul will launch, offering eat in or take out Soup, with the add on a Soul Kitchen’s other new initiative Second Bite – beautiful Shortbread Biscuits all at the Chester Townhouse, serving Monday to Friday, 12pm until 2.30pm.

The trio of soup options will be made by Soul Kitchen team members, and the Townhouse team will be on hand each day to service it up, with add on Front-of-House Training to Soul Kitchen team members every Monday and Wednesday. It’s warm food, real training, and money flowing back into a local charity – as every soup sold also puts a £1 straight back into the Soul Kitchen Charity Fund.

There will be three different soups served every day, perfect for a takeaway lunch or a lunch date in the townhouse.

Steven Hesketh, owner of The Chester Townhouse & special Advisor to Soul Kitchen: “Summer’s over, so sitting outside on our beautiful Terrace is a little cooler, so the Sunset Cafe doesn’t hit the same in October. So we’re switching to what people want in winter, hot soup, quick service, decent price and a way to support Soul Kitchen while you grab lunch. It will be available as takeout or within our Restaurant or Lounge space”
