Tip Top Productions seeks young actor for lead Full Monty role

A Chester and Wrexham based community theatre company is seeking a budding young actor to play a leading role in its upcoming production of a smash hit play at Theatr Clwyd.

Tip Top Productions is inviting boys aged approximately 12–15 to audition for the role of Nathan in their upcoming production of ‘The Full Monty’ which is set to be staged at Theatr Clwyd in June. The production will be directed for Tip Top by Peter Swingler OBE with choreography by Rob Stevens.

The role of Nathan is a pivotal and heart-warming part of the story. He is the teenage son of lead character Gaz, and the emotional centre of the show. The character is bright, funny, and thoughtful, with a wonderful father-son relationship at the core of the play.

Auditions are set to take place at Tip Top’s Park Street Studio In Wrexham on Sunday 18th January at 2.00pm.

Tickets already are selling fast for the show which is based on the iconic award-winning 1997 film. Packed with warmth, laughter and heart, the play, written by Simon Beaufoy is a celebration of friendship, resilience and finding confidence when life knocks you sideways.

Speaking about ‘The Full Monty’, Peter Swingler OBE said “This is a glorious piece of theatre — hilarious, moving and deeply human. We are thrilled by the response from our advance booking audiences so far, and we’re now looking for a young actor to complete our wonderful cast. Previous experience is not essential, all we ask for is confidence, commitment and enthusiasm”.

Peter added “This is a unique chance for a young performer to take on a significant role in a major production on one of North Wales’s leading stages, working alongside an experienced adult cast in front of large audiences. Parents and guardians are invited to make contact for further information about the role of Nathan and the auditions via email at swinglerp@gmail.com”.

Producers are also seeking a male actor aged between 40 and 60 years old to join the main cast in role of ‘Horse’.
