Step into the bizarre with Simon South Magician at Oddfellows

Magician Simon South is bringing a new show to Oddfellows. Simon has been working in the world of magic for 15 years and is the resident magician at Chester Racecourse and Arley Hall.

Simon says ” Its on the 5th February, you’ll enter with some close up magic, drink on arrival. The room will be looking all bespoke and weird and wonderful. Instead of afternoon tea we’ll be having evening tea . Then you’ll have an hour long magic show which will be full of illusions and weird and wonderful things”

Simon’s extensive experience also includes time spent in Spain with House of Illusion, Saudi Arabia and the Haven holiday camp circuit. He also appeared on Britain’s Got Talent in 2009- see https://thechesterblog.com/2016/02/25/simon-south-magician/

“With the close up magic I do, its cards, tricks and spoon bending. When I go up on stage I try and do something a bit different, with more of a story involved. I do mind reading, With the show that we’re working on, there will be elements of that going into it. I am trying to create something where there’s a ghostly appearance.. if it works!”

Simon is a former member of the Chester Guild of Magicians ( https://thechesterblog.com/2025/01/15/paul-shanley-chester-guild-of-magicians/ ). “They have been around for years. I am good friends with Paul Shanley. The people I have grown up with in magic are still there, so its a good base to go back to. We all get on and know each other. There’s a fair few of us, some fantastic magicians. It’s a weird and mystical city so it fits well!
