From the 9 to 27 February construction works to connect the power and entrance for the new Cheshire Archive Centre will require closure of the westbound lane towards Hoole Road along Lightfoot Street.

As a result, Lightfoot Street will be one way only heading from Hoole Road to the mini roundabout at the Westminster Road junction, and a diversion route will be clearly signposted along Hoole Lane to the A41 Ring Road to access Hoole Road.
The lane closure will allow works by Scottish Power to connect a new power supply to the Archive Centre and by Kier to make an opening in the brick boundary wall which will form the vehicle and pedestrian access into the new Archive Centre.
The power connection will require the digging of a cable trench along Lightfoot Street to the new Archive Centre entrance.
Councillor Louise Gittins, Leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council, said:
In addition to council funding the construction of the new Archive Centre, and a new sister site in Crewe, has been made possible thanks to National Lottery players through The National Lottery Heritage Fund and the Wolfson Foundation, an independent charity with a focus on research and education.
