This year marks a major milestone for SPACE as the charity celebrates 10 years of supporting children with
additional needs and their families across the community.

Ten years ago, SPACE officially became a registered charity. See https://thechesterblog.com/2025/09/11/space-celebrate-10-year-anniversary/
What began as an idea has grown into a vibrant, supportive community that today helps hundreds of families each year feel less isolated, more understood, and better supported. Since 2015, SPACE has delivered life-changing projects alongside every day, vital support — and none of this would have been possible without the incredible individuals, schools, businesses and community groups who have stood with the charity along the way. Now, SPACE is inviting the community to help shape the future.
To mark its 10th anniversary, SPACE has launched “10 for 10” — a year-long celebration and fundraising
campaign designed to secure the next 10 years of impact. Running throughout 2026, the campaign encourages
everyone to get involved by doing something inspired by the number 10.
Whether big or small, every action makes a difference. Supporters are invited to:
- Run, walk, swim or cycle 10km
- Raise £10 (or £100!)
- Volunteer for 10 hours
- Or choose one of the many creative ideas included in SPACE’s fundraising toolkit
Individuals, families, schools, community groups and businesses can all take part — fundraising, volunteering,
spreading the word or joining SPACE events throughout the anniversary year.
“10 for 10 is about celebrating everything our community has achieved together,” said Emma Liversedge, Fundraising
Manager at SPACE. “But it’s also about looking forward — making sure we’re here, stronger than ever, for the
children and families who need us over the next decade.”
As SPACE celebrates a decade of impact, the message is simple: everyone can play a part. Together, we can
ensure the next 10 years are even more impactful than the last.
