Journey of Hope lent parade today

A Journey of Hope Lent procession will take place through Chester.

This year’s procession is a collaborative event led by the University of Chester Chaplaincy team, the University of Chester Choir and Chester Cathedral. It will take place on Tuesday, March 17 from 6 to 8pm, beginning at The Cross in Chester city centre.

Participants will gather at The Cross, where they will be joined by performers from the Mystery Plays Choir and the Karamba Samba Drummers, creating a vibrant and reflective start to the evening. The procession will feature hot cross buns, choral pieces and readings along the route, before concluding at Chester Cathedral, where refreshments will be served. The event is open to all, offering a moment of community, reflection and shared hope during the Lenten season

. Rev Dr Gill Reeve, Senior Chaplain, highlighted the significance of the event. She said: “Following on from last year’s Lent Procession, with over 180 people taking part, this year’s Journey of Hope is an important opportunity for us to focus on hope even in challenging times.”
