Deaf & Sensory Network ([www.dsnonline.co.uk]DSN) have announced that its Youth Vibe Cheshire programme has received a grant from the Westminster Foundation Grants Programme, supporting essential operational costs including staff salaries, a new staff uniform, and vital tech equipment.
Youth Vibe provides an inclusive and empowering space for deaf, hard-of-hearing, and sensory-impaired young people aged 8–25, offering accessible group sessions in Chester and Ellesmere Port, which include mentoring, community activities to help build confidence, social skills and independence.
The funding has already made a visible difference, with the Youth Vibe team proudly sporting vibrant new uniforms featuring the Youth Vibe logo, creating a stronger identity and approachable presence across Cheshire.

Georgia Middlehurst, Senior Practitioner for Youth Vibe and Youth Services at DSN, welcomed the grant. She said:
“This funding couldn’t have come at a better time. With the recent increase in National Insurance contributions, many small charities like ours are feeling the strain. The Westminster Foundation’s support has helped bridge that financial gap, allowing us to keep doing what we do best—supporting young people to feel included, inspired and heard.”
Caroline da Cunha, Cheshire Grants Manager, says:
“We are delighted to be supporting DSN with a grant towards their youth services, including youth workers’ salaries. Youth Workers play a pivotal role in the well-being and development of children and young people, creating opportunities and empowering them to thrive and shape their futures with confidence and purpose.”
The grant has also funded a new work phone and laptop, allowing staff to deliver flexible, accessible support in both face-to-face and digital settings, essential for keeping up with the evolving needs of young people and families across the region.
