Eastgate Square is inviting visitors to discover a summer packed with free family fun, live music and unforgettable moments as it launches Eastgate Garden: an immersive seasonal experience in the heart of Chester.

Launching on Monday 3 August, Eastgate Garden will transform the centre of the Square into a vibrant floral setting complete with blossom trees, a flower-covered pergola, a central fountain and beautiful seating areas, creating the backdrop for a month-long programme of free activities and entertainment.
Designed to bring people together throughout the summer, Eastgate Garden combines a stunning immersive space with a packed calendar of family workshops, live music Garden Sessions and interactive experiences, giving visitors a reason to return week after week.

Families can enjoy eight free creative workshops throughout August, including:

• Tuesday 4 August – Garden Explorer Hat-Making Workshop
• Thursday 6 August – The Garden Wellbeing Club (mini yoga, breathing games, mindful colouring)
• Tuesday 11 August – Fairy Door Workshop
• Thursday 13 August – Butterfly Discovery Lab
• Tuesday 18 August – Garden Creator Studio (a floral selfie and contentcorner with props where families can capture keepsake photos and short videos with a take-away photo and frame)
• Thursday 20 August – Pressed Flower Art
• Tuesday 25 August – Garden Tote Bag Studio
• Thursday 27 August – Mini DJs Garden Sound Lab (learn basic DJ skills, mix tracks, use sound pads and make a short garden mix)

Alongside the scheduled workshops (that will run 11:00 – 16:00 on event days), there will always be something happening at Eastgate Garden. Visitors can take part in the Garden Explorer Club, a self-guided family trail designed to encourage curiosity and discovery, or enjoy The Garden Games, featuring giant games and playful challenges available throughout the summer.

Every Saturday afternoon, Eastgate Garden will also come alive with Garden Sessions, bringing a changing programme of musicians and performers to the Square and creating the perfect soundtrack to summer in Chester.
Retailers across Eastgate Square will also be joining the celebration with a series of special experiences throughout the month, with more details to be announced soon.

Eastgate Garden opens on Monday 3 August and is free to visit throughout August.
