Located at 6–8 Watergate Street, the Chester store is the company’s first new shop opening in almost ten years, marking an exciting new chapter for the employee-owned business as it continues to invest in destination retail experiences.

Visitors to the new shop can watch expert fudge makers create batches of silky-smooth fudge by hand throughout the day using traditional techniques refined over more than 40 years. Made with fresh whipping cream and natural ingredients, every batch is crafted on marble tables in full view of customers, creating the sensory experience that has made Fudge Kitchen a favourite with generations of visitors.

The Chester opening also represents an important milestone in the company’s sustainability journey. The shop is the first Fudge Kitchen location to operate entirely on renewable electricity, using fully electric cooking equipment powered by renewable energy as part of the company’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact.

Ian McCluskey, Retail Director at Fudge Kitchen, said:

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the warm welcome we’ve received from the people of Chester and the business community since opening our doors.

“Our shops are much more than places to buy fudge – they’re places where people can experience traditional craftsmanship, meet our passionate makers and enjoy something genuinely memorable. Chester is a fantastic city with a thriving independent retail scene, and we’re delighted to now be part of its community.”

Founded in 1983, Fudge Kitchen has built a loyal following through its handcrafted confectionery, commitment to quality ingredients and unforgettable in-store experiences. Alongside its Chester opening, the business operates successful stores in Bath, Canterbury, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Windsor and York, while also supplying luxury retailers including Harrods, Selfridges, Fortnum & Mason and Claridge’s.
