Commenting, Chair of the Hoole Lights community group, Mark Williams, said: “We’re celebrating 20 years of Christmas lights here in Hoole and we are working with local traders to make this year’s lights switch on a fantastic event for the community.

“We’ve been raising money all year and invested in light repairs so that everything is ready for the switch on in November. Santa Claus has been booked and we hope he can bring his reindeer too. The team are also working to raise additional funds for a fireworks display after the lights are switched on.

“There are fundraising events planned and shops and businesses in Hoole have donation tins for contributions. If anyone wants to get involved in organising the lights switch on, we meet at 7pm every Wednesday at Hoole Community Centre, so please join us.

“Save the date – Saturday 23rdNovember – and come along with your family and friends to share the fun. We look forward to seeing you all there.”
