.How are you ? Now there’s a loaded question. But thank you for asking.
.Who/what inspired you in life ? Anyone who has a kind and honest heart is someone to aspire to. For me, one of the most inspirational people on the planet is Barack Obama. Regardless of whether you think he was a good president, he fought tirelessly for change he truly believed in, and has tremendous integrity and compassion for others that is evident when you hear him speak. You just know that if you met him he would make you feel like the most important person in the room.
.What advice would you give to your younger self? Stop wasting time worrying about people who couldn’t care less about you.
.What do you do to relax? Watch old episodes of Frasier. Never fails.
.Fav film of all time? The Wedding Singer. Scent of a Woman a close second.
.What would you sing on karaoke night ? Have and would sing Donna Summer’s Hot Stuff. Failing that, Cher’s If I Could Turn Back Time. What a power ballad.
.Where do you see Chester in 5 years time ? Still a thriving food destination to be proud of, with even more great independent culinary offerings.
.Where do you see the world in 5 years time? Covid-free hopefully
.If you could change one thing about Chester what would it be? All the negativity it gets.
.Are we alone in the universe ? Considering that for every grain of sand there’s a billion stars, it’s incomprehensible that we can be.
.Name 3 things you love – my family/ food/ Otis Redding
.And 3 you hate? Keyboard warriors/ The phrase ‘slow news day’/ most modern music
.In your darkest hour what gives you comfort? That there’s usually a reason for everything.
.What is the greatest memory of your life ? Giving birth to my daughter amidst the dulcet tones of Gavin Matthews on the hospital radio.
.What would be the title of your autobiography? Slow News Life?
.Why do fools fall in love ? I’m really not sure. Why do birds sing so gay?
.What was the last film you saw and was it any good ? Frozen 2. It was pleasant enough but left me wanting more.
.Which person , living or dead would you take for an independent coffee or drink? I’d probably take my much missed mum to Vin Santo for a few vinos. She did love a nice red.
.Favourite place in the borough (specific) ? I worked at Chester Cathedral from 2009-10. It is a truly magnificent building that holds so many happy memories for me
.If you could time travel, where/when would you go ? I’d have been a cracking 80s youth in the New Romantic era. The hair, makeup, clothes, Duran Duran posters on the wall. Unfortunately I was born too late.
